What's involved

Thorough, unhurried care

A general dentistry visit at BrightSmile is a full 30 minutes — not the rushed 10-minute appointment some clinics offer. We take the time to assess your teeth, gums and soft tissue properly, take any digital x-rays needed, and explain what (if anything) we'd recommend.

We follow modern, minimally-invasive principles: less drilling, more prevention, and only treatment that's genuinely necessary. If your teeth are healthy, we'll happily tell you so — and see you again in six months.

  • Full 30-minute new-patient or recall exam
  • Digital x-rays with up to 90% less radiation than film
  • Oral cancer screening as standard
  • Gum health assessment with photo records
  • Written treatment plan with prices, before any work begins

How it works

What to expect, step by step

1

Your initial exam

30 minutes with a senior dentist. Photos, x-rays where needed, and a discussion of anything you've noticed yourself.

2

Your written plan

If we recommend any treatment, you'll leave with a clear, itemised plan and prices — never a verbal upsell at the chair.

3

Routine recall every 6 months

Most patients come in twice a year for an exam plus hygiene. We send a reminder — but you're never on a contract.

FAQs

Common questions about this treatment

How often should I have a check-up?

Twice a year is right for most people. If you have a history of gum disease, decay or recent treatment, we may recommend more frequent recalls — we'll always tell you why.

Do white fillings last as long as silver ones?

In modern hands, yes. Today's composite materials bond directly to the tooth and typically last 10+ years — often longer than older amalgam in similar conditions, with far less drilling required to place them.

Are x-rays safe?

Yes. Our digital sensors use up to 90% less radiation than the older film systems. A full set of x-rays is roughly the equivalent of a few hours of natural background radiation.
